A good night’s sleep is essential to the quality of our health and well-being. However, the National Commission on Sleep Disorders estimates that 40 million Americans are chronically ill with sleep disorders and that an additional 20-30 million experience intermittent sleep-related problems. Unfortunately, 95% of people with sleep disorders remain undiagnosed.
The Sleep Center at Howard Memorial Hospital provides testing, diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea. The center can not only help improve a patient’s quality of life through better sleep, but also prevent or reverse potential life-threatening complications that could result from an untreated sleep disorder.
“If you feel you or a loved one is experiencing a sleep disorder and would benefit from the services provided at the HMH Sleep Center, contact your physician for a referral to our Cardiopulmonary Department,” says Gayla Hooker, cardiopulmonary service director. “We will get you on your way to a restful night and more productive life.”
Please contact Gayla at 870-845-6941 for more information about scheduling a sleep test.
