Howard Memorial Hospital is thrilled to announce the building of our new therapy center—created just for children—which will be opening early this year. Pediatric therapy is a growing need in our community and a critical resource for kids of all ages.
Recovery from sports injuries, surgeries, speech therapy and a variety of other reasons may bring children to therapy, where they can get the individualized plans to help them advance, grow, develop and learn the skills needed to help them live life to the best of their abilities. The new facility—focused as much on functionality as it is on fun—was created to be engaging and welcoming for kids at all levels and ages. The building is also centrally located and easy to access for parents and caregivers who bring kids to appointments.
Children may need therapy for a variety of reasons:
Our new pediatric facility will provide a place for children to receive individualized therapy services to help them grow and progress in their overall development while learning the skills needed in order to live their life to the best of their abilities. The new facility—focused as much on functionality as it is on fun—was created to be engaging and welcoming for kids at all levels and ages. The building is also centrally located and easy to access for parents and caregivers who bring kids to appointments.
The new space has a lot to offer—both in terms of size and services. The large facility has been modified to accommodate different needs and evolutions in care and gives everyone space to spread out for social distancing.
A big reason for this new facility is to create an environment just for kids. It can be less intimidating and easier for younger patients when they’re surrounded by things geared toward their age group and they see other kids receiving help as well. We are all about inclusion! We believe when children are more comfortable, therapy sessions are more effective, and kids are more confident and successful. The new facility will also be full service, so kids will have access to physical therapy, speech language pathology and occupational therapy.
Perhaps most importantly, the pediatric therapy center is staffed by experienced, accredited therapists, who specialize in treating younger patients by creating customized treatment plans. Our therapists stay with their patients throughout their treatments, for one-on-one therapy which is often hard to find in other facilities. Therapists and patients form real relationships with their therapists, which helps both parents and kids feel comfortable while also making the kids more receptive to learn the skills needed to progress in their development and gain the confidence they need to create stronger, healthier foundations as they grow and develop.
The new pediatric therapy center offers a centralized location, at 1315 S. 4th Street, Nashville, Arkansas. This makes it convenient and accessible to help busy parents, grandparents and caregivers get kids to their therapy appointments with ease.
